COURSE STRUCTURE
ONLINE COURSE
Approx. 3–4 hours of self-paced learning covering theory, system types, and
energy efficiency principles.
FACE-TO-FACE WORKSHOP
Approx. 4–5 hours of hands-on training at a PICAC campus or regional
venue, focusing on: system design, practical installation technique and
troubleshooting.
KEY TOPICS COVERED
- How heat pump hot water systems work
- Types of systems: Integrated vs Split-System
- System Design, rebates and subsidies
- Refrigerants and their impact on performance
- Installation best practices and placement guidelines
- Factors affecting performance: temperature, humidity, location
- Energy efficiency and Coefficient of Performance (COP)
- Sizing systems for household demand
ELIGIBILITY & LOCATIONS
WHO CAN ENROL
This training is available to:
- Registered and licensed plumbers in Victoria
- Fourth-year plumbing apprentices in Victoria
COST
This training is completely free for eligible participants. It is fully funded by
the Victorian Government through Solar Victoria’s Training and Workforce
Development Program.
