COURSE STRUCTURE

ONLINE COURSE

Approx. 3–4 hours of self-paced learning covering theory, system types, and energy efficiency principles.

FACE-TO-FACE WORKSHOP

Approx. 4–5 hours of hands-on training at a PICAC campus or regional venue, focusing on: system design, practical installation technique and troubleshooting.

How heat pump hot water systems work
Types of systems: Integrated vs Split-System
System Design, rebates and subsidies
Refrigerants and their impact on performance
Installation best practices and placement guidelines
Factors affecting performance: temperature, humidity, location
Energy efficiency and Coefficient of Performance (COP)
Sizing systems for household demand

ELIGIBILITY & LOCATIONS

WHO CAN ENROL

This training is available to:

Registered and licensed plumbers in Victoria
Fourth-year plumbing apprentices in Victoria

You do not need to be working in Solar Victoria’s programs to qualify.

COST

This training is completely free for eligible participants. It is fully funded by the Victorian Government through Solar Victoria’s Training and Workforce Development Program.
